Bruno de Florence
IGNORANCE IS A PASSION
Within a short historical timeline, Copernicus throws the Earth away from the centre of the universe, Darwin writes that we are the mere product of chance genetic mutations, Sigmund Freud shows that there is knowledge which is not known, and Jacques Lacan teaches that Dasein is made of language. I propose to explore the consequences of the epistemological shifts brought about by psychoanalysis, in respect to what can be formulated about the musical act and its practice.
Bruno de Florence is a musicologist and a composer. He graduated at Goldsmiths College (London, UK), and is the author of “Musique, sémiotique et pulsion”, L’Harmattan, Paris, 2008.
